What concerns do you have when you’re considering a Boudoir Session? Is it style, location, the photographer’s personality, pricing, or something deeper? If you’ve been thinking about a Boudoir Session you’ve probably realized that it can be a little overwhelming and I’m here to help you in your search by shedding some light on the top mistakes women make when considering a Boudoir Session.
1. MOST WOMEN BELIEVE THAT THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THEM IF THEY ARE CRAZY NERVOUS WHEN EVEN CONSIDERING A BOUDOIR SESSION
Well, let me tell you that 99% of the women I photograph are definitely crazy nervous before their photo shoot! In fact, I might be a little concerned if they weren’t! It’s a pretty big deal to get in front of a camera in general, but in your skimpies or less in on a whole different level. But honestly, those butterflies are just an indication of how important this is to you. Rest assured, those nerves will dissipate quicker than you think with the right studio.
2.MOST WOMEN ARE AFRAID THAT THEY WON’T KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH THEIR BODIES
So just go ahead and cut yourself some slack on this one because unless you are a professional model or dancer, you are not going to know what to do with your body. This is the photographer’s job. She/he should know how to coach you through body movements, poses and facial expressions. You will be amazed by how easy it actually is when someone with experience is guiding you through the process. Check out the blog post I wrote, On Posing, Fear and Yoga, for a bit more on this topic.
3. SOME WOMEN FEEL LIKE THEY NEED TO LOSE WEIGHT BEFORE THEIR PHOTO SHOOT
Curves are beautiful! However, if this is a concern of yours, then this is where an experienced photographer will step in and lead the way. She/he should know how to make you look your very best through the use of lighting, posing and wardrobe. After-all, the ultimate goal here is to show you how amazingly beautiful you are right now, just as you are!
4. A LOT OF WOMEN TEND TO STRESS THEMSELVES OUT OVER WHAT TO WEAR
It is definitely the photographer’s responsibility to help you prepare your wardrobe. Wardrobe planning should be fun and creative! I want you to enjoy thinking about and shopping for outfits, not stressing over it! I have some women book their session with a very clear idea of what they want to wear, while others kinda sorta maybe have an idea and others have absolutely no clue. Whatsover. All of these are completely normal and I am fully prepared for wherever someone falls within this vast spectrum of wardrobe comfort. So, in addition to looking for a photographer that provides a pre-session consultation and visual inspiration, I also suggest looking for a studio that provides wardrobe for extra options. Rest assured, my studio does all of these.
5. MOST WOMEN FEEL QUILTY ABOUT SPENDING MONEY ON THEMSELVES
As a single Mother of three kiddos, I get it. I really do. But at the end of the day, we invest in what we believe in, and believing in ourselves is a worthwhile investment. In addition, I make this kind of investment in yourself even easier by offering various payment plans for your gorgeous final products.
