How do I even begin this?
The last 11 days will forever change us.
I have been mulling over what to write in this post for the last 11 days, because even though my first priorities have been out of complete survival mode to secure safety and supplies for my children, all of my beloved clients and my the health of this beautiful business that I have built from the ground up over the last 15 years has been heavy on my mind and in my heart.
The last 11 days will forever change us.
We are some of the lucky ones. While we are still without power or running water or internet in our home, we are alive and safe, no property damage, we have plenty of supplies and a loving community of friends and neighbors.
Not one single act of kindness will go overlooked.
I have been through many challenges in my life, but this one absolutely overrides them all. I haven’t stopped crying for 11 days, checking in on my loved ones for 11 days, checking our water and food supplies for 11 days and worrying for 11 days.
But most importantly, I have felt overwhelming grateful for our community and the endless amount of love and support that we are all selflessly pouring onto one another for 11 days. WNC will never be the same, but we will rebuild and our rich community of artists and small businesses will eventually recover.
Through this despair, we will create something new, fresh and vibrant…I can feel it.
So this post is being made to simply check in, to let you know that we are safe, the studio is safe, and that we will move forward together.
With love and hope,
Jesseca xoxo
