Erin Doyle is a technology geek who seems to be at the right place at the right time. She chose a career in computers long before the general public had ever heard of a PC, and worked on IBM’s intranet, email and instant message systems years before the advent of the world wide web. She established her database design company, Data Solutions Plus, Inc., and became a database and technology educator long before the term “database” became a term of everyday use.
In 2017, Erin added to her skill base and business offerings by becoming a blockchain consultant, strategist and educator in order to help people and businesses become aware of the new technology that will be affecting everything people do, from banking to entertainment to real estate. The world of AOL and Netscape is referred to as Internet 1.0, the world of Amazon and Facebook and Netflix is referred to as Internet 2.0, and blockchain technology and its application to real world use cases is being referred to as Internet 3.0 and is poised to make a big splash within the next few years. If you can’t imagine life without online shopping, watching videos online, social media and everything else you do online, you understand how big of an impact Internet 2.0 has in your life. Erin wants to help individuals and businesses learn how to successfully become part of the Internet 3.0 – blockchain technology – which will soon be as much a part of your life as the internet is today.
Not solely business-focused, Erin has also applied herself to improving our world, having worked as an attorney assisting the low-income, elderly in our community, volunteered as overseer of a large section of the Appalachian Trail, and participated as a Big Sis’ in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters program for eight years. You might even have seen Erin on stage over the years, when she has sung with the Asheville Symphony Chorus and the Asheville-based sextet, The Muses. For over 20 years, Erin has enjoyed living and working in the vibrant, interesting, beautiful and downright friendly community known as Western North Carolina.
